Barbara
D. Knox, MSW, LCSW
Barbara Knox has a Bachelor Degree in Latin American
Studies from Indiana University and a Master’s of Social Work from the
University of Denver. She has worked in public mental health for twenty-one years
and for the past thirteen years has been a hospice social worker. She became a Licensed
Clinical Social Worker in 1979 and achieved Diplomat status with the National Association of Social workers in
1994. She began her private practice with Counseling Northwest in 1991.
Barbara believes that therapy begins with an exploration of the individual or family’s needs, strengths, learning
styles, and life experiences. As an understanding of the current issues unfold, education about and a search for
alternative behaviors or thoughts begin as movement is facilitated toward the client’s goals.
